Detailed Description

£375.00

A practice-based short course to enable qualified health visitors or school nurses to evidence, (for their own continuing professional development (CPD)) their experience to work across 0-19 orientation for the public health needs of children and young people.

This is evidenced by successful completion of a work-based portfolio that demonstrates acquisition and achievement of relevant work based learning (50 days) across the 0-19 public health services for children and young people.

Local authorities are now responsible for commissioning public health services for children and young people aged 0-19. This provides new opportunities for bringing together services for children and young people across health, social care, education and voluntary sectors.

Public health services for children aged 0-19 are led and delivered by health visitors and school nursing teams in collaboration with other partners.
The traditional focus of health visitors on children under 5 and school nurses on 5 to 19 year olds is being replaced by a focus on a seamless 0-19 service.
In order to deliver this service, practitioners are required who can work across the age range.

Existing provision facilitates learning experiences in either school nursing or health visiting. This CPD short course allows the learner to document their development across the 0 -19 lifespan, as there is an. identified demand from practitioners and providers of services that this offer would enhance the service provision.

This short course builds on the close working relationships with partners in practice to collaboratively meet the changing demands of health and social care provision. It extends  CPD for Specialist Community Public Health Nursing and enables the development of closer links with Local Authority stakeholders.

The course is orientated around work-based learning that must equate to 50 days of work evidenced by the completion of work-based learning documentation. There is no planned face to face delivery, students will complete the work-based learning and submit a portfolio to evidence this.

You will be invoiced for the fee of £375 once your registration has been confirmed. The £0 shown on booking represents only the amount due at the point of submission.
