DescriptionMotivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based, client-centred approach to communication that helps you support lasting, positive change. Grounded in robust research, MI works with a person's own motivation and values to build genuine engagement — whether in clinical, social care, or other helping settings. This two-part programme builds practical, immediately applicable skills, from the core spirit and techniques of MI through to advanced strategies for planning change and matching your approach to each client's readiness. Part 1: Introduction to Motivational Interviewing and Behaviour Change -5th and 6th November 2026 or 22nd and 23rd April 2027 Part 2: Motivational Interviewing: Advancing your Practice - 23rd and 24th June 2027 Part 1 - Introduction Based at Sheffield Hallam University's Colleagiate Crescent Campus and the City Centre Campus. Sessions will run from 0900 - 12.30 and 13.15 to 1700
