Booking Process You will need to register with the SHU Online Store as part of the booking process, using a valid email address. Please have your SHU ID (from the email inviting you to book) to hand, as you will need this to complete your booking. You must complete the checkout process to confirm your booking (there is NO CHARGE for this and you will not be asked for any card or payment details). Preparing for your interview You will need to have a digital portfolio of your creative work to share and discuss through Zoom. This could be original digital files or photographs of any physical work. Any sketchbook, painted or printed examples should be photographed or scanned and placed within your portfolio. If you wish to submit a video as part of your portfolio this should be embedded within your portfolio as a link for us to view. Please collate the edited selection of work into a single document, preferably this should be in PDF format (the finished portfolio size shouldn’t exceed 25mb). Take time with your selection when putting the portfolio together. Do not include everything you have ever done, present a good, clear selection that represents your abilities. Your portfolio may include past and current school or college work, other personal projects, work in progress and other work that you feel demonstrates your creative potential. Alternatively, this may include work completed in other fields outside of those traditionally thought of as the 'creative subjects' such as writing, research, problem solving. The portfolio review provides you with an opportunity to discuss your creative work. You will not be asked to describe everything in your portfolio, but you should be able to talk in detail about one piece of work and to answer questions about it. The portfolio review helps us understand whether we are able to offer you a place on the course you’ve applied for. Your UCAS statement, interview, and portfolio provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate your creative experience, potential ability and enthusiasm for the course you’ve applied for. You will need to have the digital portfolio open on your computer desktop for the start of the interview. Please also prepare any questions you have about the course in advance. It will really help the discussion go well if you familiarise yourself with Zoom in advance. If you are not a regular user, please practice with friends or family beforehand. |
