Detailed Description

After much entertaining travel around Sheffield to places of interest and delight, we have chosen the following unique venue for our conference dinner: THE UPPER GALLERY AT THE KELHAM ISLAND MUSEUM http://www.simt.co.uk/kelham-island-museum Located in one of the city’s oldest industrial districts, the museum stands on a man-made island over 900 years old. It’s a striking Victorian building with magnificent backdrops against the façade of the passing River Don. You will have a chance to see many of the exhibits and learn about the city’s industrial history. We will lead those who wish on a twenty-minute walk down to the island along the newly reclaimed river walk down to the island. Otherwise taxi or tram will get you there. The event will be catered by P.J. Taste https://www.pjtaste.co.uk/, a company chosen for their excellent food and ethical values: Showcasing local ingredients we prepare creative food with great taste and attention to seasonality. All our dishes are handmade from scratch including biscuits and much of our bread. We create seasonally inspired food from locally sourced ingredients, growing our own edible flowers, apples, soft fruits, herbs and vegetables.  With 37 solar panels our electric delivery vehicles offer a sustainable form of transport. We will have a three course gourmet vegetarian/vegan repast made by these good people and accompanied by wine. This will feature dishes such as Greek Style Spinach Pie with Hathersage Cow Close Farm Cream Cheese and Onion with Local Grown Salad with an Elderberry Dressing; Spinach and watercress roulade with artichoke hearts and roast red pepper; Smoked Tofu and Sorba Noddle Salad with Lemon Grass, Coriander and Lime; Roast Aubergine with PJ taste grown Chilli, Miso and Pomegranate Mollases served with a white bean, artichoke and olive sauce Pillow of Butternut Squash with Sage and Parmesan served with a Vegetable Consomme and Earl Grey Tea Jelly and pudding too! We have tried to keep the costs down so this dinner will be subsidised and will cost £30 per head. You are welcome to book for partners if accompanying you. Afterwards you can spill out into the micro-brewery pubs conveniently to hand on Kelham Island…
